Plan to be at the clinic 45 to 60 minutes.
Your physiotherapist gathers information regarding your health and injury history, and understands your injury, abilities and goals.
Your therapist explains their findings and recommends a treatment plan.
With your consent, your first treatment begins.

Plan to be at the clinic 30 to 60 minutes.
For continuity of care, you’ll see the same therapist as much as possible.
Your continued treatment could include hands on techniques, like mobilization and manipulation; modalities, like acupuncture, TENS, ultrasound and traction, and stretching or strengthening exercises.
You may get “homework” exercises to do on your own between appointments.

Shorts, t-shirt and running shoes unless otherwise advised.
Doctor’s instructions if you have them. You don’t need a referral to see us unless you’re a Workers Compensation Board client. On the rare occasion, a referral may be necessary for your reimbursement from your insurance carrier.
Payment is required at the time of your treatment. We take direct debit, VISA, Master Card, cash or cheques.

The average number of treatments is 4 to 5 visits with your Physiotherapist. However, depending on the severity of your injury, ache or pain, it could be as few as one treatment or 10-12 treatments.

We abide by all standards and regulations outlined in the Alberta Health Professions Act 2011, the Physical Therapists Profession Regulation, and the Privacy Information & Protection Act (PIPA).
With your permission, either verbal or written, we’ll communicate with your physician, massage therapist, personal trainer or any other health professional that’s assisting in your recovery and wellness.

We require payment at the end of each treatment. You’ll get a receipt with a description of the services you received. You may submit this to supplementary health plans for reimbursement.
If injured on the job, the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) may be responsible for payment and, if so, we can bill them directly.

If injured in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) and you qualify under the Diagnostic and Treatment Protocol program, we are able to directly bill your insurance company for your services within their set guidelines. Choose the most convenient location, and call us to book your appointment and we’ll answer any other questions you have.
Typically, we are able to schedule new appointments within 48 hours, and same day if it's an emergency.

THE Downtown Sports Clinics are able to assist our patients with access to an outside gym facility.
The Bow Valley Club and Barclay Fitness offer month by month or drop in memberships as necessary for your rehabilitation needs.
